History of the Festival
The Breaux Bridge Crawfish Festival began in 1960, when Breaux Bridge was officially designated as the Crawfish Capital of the World by the Louisiana legislature. What started as a local celebration has since grown into an internationally recognized event, attracting visitors from all over the country. The festival honors the region’s deep-rooted Cajun traditions, featuring authentic music, cuisine, and culture that have been passed down for generations.

Live Cajun & Zydeco Music – Dance the weekend away to the sounds of local legends and rising stars performing on multiple stages. This year you can experience three days with 30 different bands performing. Plus. there will be dance lessons offered all weekend so you can join in on the fun.
Crawfish Cook-Off – Watch expert chefs compete to create the best crawfish dishes, from étouffée to fried crawfish and everything in between. The best part is, samples will be available for guests after judging is complete.
Parades & Pageants – Enjoy festive parades and cheer on the newly crowned Crawfish Queen as she leads the celebrations. Cajun family bands, marching bands, and festive floats will add to the day of entertainment.
Crawfish Eating Contests – Think you can eat more crawfish than the locals? Put your skills to the test in this fun and competitive challenge! The contest will be open to the public for anyone who dares to compete.
Arts & Crafts Vendors – Browse handcrafted goods, unique souvenirs, and Cajun-inspired art from talented local artists. There will also be official crawfish memorabilia available for you to remember your experience.
Rides & Family Fun – From carnival rides to kids' activities, the festival has something for all ages.
Dates & Cost
The Breaux Bridge Crawfish Festival is held every year on the first weekend of May at Parc Hardy in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana. For 2025, the festival dates are May 2 - May 4, 2025.
Ticket prices vary depending on the day and activities, with weekend passes available for those who don’t want to miss a thing! Please note, tickets can only be purchased upon entry. Online tickets are NOT available.
