Girls Weekend in Fort Myers Beach

If you’re anything like me, you’ve probably had “girls trip to the beach” sitting on your bucket list for way too long. So, when my best friend and I finally booked a long weekend at Margaritaville Beach Resort Fort Myers Beach, I knew it was going to be a mix of sunshine, cocktails, and pure relaxation – Here's to the trip that made it out of the group chat!

Spoiler alert: it was everything we hoped for, and more!

Here’s exactly how we spent our long weekend, from welcome drinks and spa days to beach fries and boozy ice cream.

A Group Of Plants In Cups

Day 1: Welcome to Paradise
After landing in Fort Myers, we hopped in an Uber for a quick 30-minute ride to the resort. The second we arrived, we were handed welcome drinks, talk about starting off on the right note! We checked into our room, opened the curtains, and were instantly greeted by a breathtaking view of the Gulf. The colors, the breeze, the “you’re-really-here” moment, it was unreal!

A Person Holding A Phone

After unpacking, taking way too many pictures, and popping a bottle of champagne, lunch was at License to Chill. This laid-back restaurant is just steps from the lobby. We ordered the shrimp salad, a round of margaritas, and decided that yes, we were officially on island time.

A Drink And Sunglasses On A TableThe rest of the day? Poolside bliss. We spent hours at the Fins Up! Beach Club, sipping piña coladas, people-watching, and chatting with other guests who felt like instant friends. That evening, we wandered down to The Lighthouse for a couple of cocktails, live music, and laughs with locals who had the best beach stories.

Day 2: Spa Day & Sunset Fun
The next morning started slow, but it’s 5 o’clock somewhere! We grabbed lattes from Coconut Telegraph Coffee Shop and took them down to the pool to ease into the day. After a few hours of lounging, we treated ourselves to facials at St. Somewhere Spa. Everyone there was so friendly and made us feel instantly relaxed. My favorite part was the relaxation room, soft music, ocean tones, and total peace. I could’ve stayed there all day.

After a day of lounging and relaxation, we popped over to Naples, Florida (only a 30 minute Uber ride!) to check out Compass Hotel by Margaritaville. There, we got signature fall cocktails, hung out with some parrots, and enjoyed the sunset over their beautiful outdoor pool!

A Cup Of Hot Sauce And A Hot Dog On A TableThat night, we dressed up for dinner at JWB Grill, the resort’s upscale dining spot. I ordered the tuna tartare and an espresso martini, which quickly became my new favorite combo. To top off the night, we joined a Halloween costume contest happening on the terrace - unexpected, hilarious, and the perfect way to cap off the day.

Day 3: Beach Day & Boozy Ice Cream
We let ourselves sleep in (because, vacation) and spent most of the morning on the beach. The soft sand, the sound of the waves, it felt like the world slowed down for a bit. For lunch, we headed to Lah De Dah Beach Bar and ordered poke nachos and beach fries that hit the spot. The view from the bar is the perfect homage to Florida, turquoise water as far as you can see, people playing in the sand, and vibes that made our last night perfect!

Pro tip: If you forget anything, the Margaritaville Store on property has everything from sunscreen and aloe to cute sun hats. Trust me, we needed all of the above.

A Sign In A Building

We finished our last full day exactly how we started it, back at the pool with tropical drinks from 5 o’Clock Somewhere Bar & Grill. That night, we decided to stay in, binge Halloween movies, and snack on boozy ice cream from the store downstairs (We got the birthday cake martini flavor!). The perfect sweet ending to a perfect trip.

Day 4: One Last Bite Before Goodbye
On our last morning, I made it my mission to try the License to Chill Eggs Benedict, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. It’s the ultimate farewell breakfast (especially with a mimosa). We took one last walk along the beach, packed up our sandy flip-flops, and grabbed an Uber back to the airport. By the time we landed home, our faces were pink, our skin was tan, and we were more relaxed than we’d been in months.

Final Thoughts
If you’re planning a girls trip where you can truly unwind, without sacrificing great food, views, or fun, Margaritaville Beach Resort Fort Myers Beach is it. Between the spa, beachside bars, and that “everyone-knows-your-name” hospitality, it’s the kind of place you never want to leave.

Trust me, once you’ve spent a few days here, you’ll be planning your next trip back before you even unpack your suitcase.
