Celebrating One Year in Paradise at Margaritaville Hotel Kansas City
This June, Margaritaville Hotel Kansas City marked its debut year with a month-long celebration for locals and guests alike, offering specialty food and beverage deals, local collaborations, exclusive staycation hotel packages, and a packed summer events lineup.
How to Celebrate
You can still celebrate with us! Margaritaville Hotel Kansas City is collaborating with local Kansas City legends to create exclusive birthday-themed products. Come grab a scoop of the Mango Wave Sorbet created in collaboration with Betty Rae’s Ice Cream at Joe Merchant's Coffee & Provisions, or snack on the special birthday cake flavor of Velvet Crème Popcorn. The hotel is also offering a limited-time Birthday Cake Margarita available at the LandShark Bar & Grill and the 5 o’Clock Somewhere Bar & Grill, made with Margaritaville Passionfruit Tequila and Pinnacle Whipped Vodka mixed with birthday cake flavors, garnished with a birthday sprinkle rim.

You can also enjoy our slice of paradise just right outside of Kansas City. Come enjoy the hotel's Summer of Fun while lounging at the best pool in the Midwest, catch a live performance at the brand-new music stage during the Sunset Series, and pick up some delicious Kansas City barbecue at the newest poolside dining experience, The Shack.
Guests and visitors of all ages can secure a day pool pass (no hotel stay required) and enjoy the fun from our family-friendly pool deck featuring a waterslide, zero-entry kids’ zone, and in-water tables & chairs. Not to mention our daybed loungers and private cabanas, perfect for lounging with a drink in hand.
Year in Review
Margaritaville Hotel Kansas City had a successful first year, bringing a taste of the islands to locals and guests alike!
After opening in June 2025, we honored Jimmy Buffett Day with our Day of Service in August. Guests were invited to celebrate with us poolside and enjoy arts and craft activities, live music, and a local caricature artist. Sales of our specialty cocktails, along with limited-edition Jimmy Buffett Day Merchandise and commemorative cups, helped us support Habitat for Humanity of Kansas City and Singing for Change, a non-profit founded by Buffett dedicated to supporting organizations fostering positive community impact and growth.

Jimmy Buffett Day of Service is celebrated across all of our Margaritaville communities, properties, resorts, restaurants, destinations, hotels, and cruises to celebrate Jimmy’s legacy of service and support.
This past winter, the hotel shifted from summer paradise to winter wonderland. Our Frosted Cabanas featured six specialty themed cabana experiences with an exclusive holiday menu, featuring island-inspired winter staples. Each rental also included a make-your-own hot chocolate spread, spiced nuts, and pretzel sticks, perfect for enjoying with friends and family.

Alongside the cabanas, we transformed the first level of the LandShark Bar & Grill into our Frosted Reef pop-up bar. The experience featured under-the-sea holiday-themed decor with seasonal food and drink options, giving visitors a chance to enjoy paradise during the winter chill.

Earlier this spring, Margaritaville Hotel Kansas City hosted its inaugural Margarita Fest, welcoming more than 150 guests for an afternoon celebrating one of the brand's signature cocktails. The first-of-its-kind event transformed the hotel into a tropical festival filled with live music, tequila tastings from local and national brands, interactive food stations, passed appetizers, and immersive experiences like a build-your-own margarita salt bar, giveaways, a caricature artist, and a stilt walker. Guests sampled bold margarita creations crafted by the hotel's bartenders while enjoying the vibrant, island-inspired atmosphere that brought a taste of paradise to the Midwest.

We look forward to bringing more festive events and moments of fun to guests and the Kansas City community, because it's always 5 o’clock somewhere at Margaritaville Hotel Kansas City.
