Group Sales & Events Coordinator

Full Job Description 

The mission of Group Sales is to drive revenue and expand market presence by building strong relationships with organizations, associations, tour operators, and event planners. Through proactive outreach, creative packaging and seamless execution, the individual in this role will ensure that every group booking—whether a family vacation, corporate retreat, or social event—not only meets but exceeds expectations. By aligning group sales strategies with the resort’s branding and marketing goals, Group Sales directly contributes to guest satisfaction, brand reputation, and long-term financial success.

Business Development
1. Develop and maintain relationships with meeting planners, travel agents, tour operators, RV clubs, and local
organizations to secure sales and repeat business.
2. Conduct site tours and presentations that showcase the resort’s upgraded amenities and accommodations.
3. Negotiate contracts, rates, and packages that are competitive, profitable and align with resort revenue goals.
4. Maintain an active pipeline of prospects and work to achieve group sales revenue targets.
Revenue Tracking & Reporting
5. Forecast sales performance and provide regular updates to the General Manager.
6. Track and analyze booking patterns, group sizes, and event types to identify opportunities for growth.
7. Collaborate with the Financial Controller on billing accuracy and timely collection of group deposits and
payments.
8. Monitor the group sales strategies of competitors and recommend adjustments to maintain market competitiveness.
Marketing & Leadership Collaboration
9. Work closely with the General Manager to align group sales initiatives with the resort’s overall marketing campaigns and branding strategy.
10. Contribute to the creation of promotional materials, group sales kits, and digital campaigns targeting new business.
11. Represent the resort at trade shows, conferences, and networking events to promote offerings.
12. Provide market insights and recommendations to leadership to refine group sales strategies and identify new opportunities.
13. Participate in the Manager-on-Duty (MOD) program as assigned.
14. Perform additional duties as requested.

Work Schedule

  • This position requires flexibility in scheduling based on the needs of the resort. Team members may be scheduled to work weekends, holidays, and extended hours during peak seasons or special events.
  • Team members may also be called into work outside of their regular schedule to respond to urgent maintenance issues, guest needs, or other operational requirements.

Job Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university in sales, marketing, business, or related field.
  • 3–5 years of proven sales experience in hospitality, resorts or hotels; experience in
  • group or event sales strongly preferred.
  • Proficiency with sales CRM systems and the Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proven experience creating and delivering sales presentations and proposals.
  • Ability to speak, read and write in both English and Spanish, preferred.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills across teams and various leadership levels.
  • Ability to build strong relationships.
  • Skilled in negotiation with various parties.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.
  • Critical thinking ability and strong decision-making skills.

  • Meet or exceed departmental profit goals and budgeted revenue goals.
  • Achieve customer service and guest satisfaction targets (Net Promoter Scores).
  • Foster high team member engagement and subsequent survey scores.
  • Meet or exceed resort safety goals in all formats including but not limited to safe working habits & techniques (OSHA), Health Department regulations, EcoSure inspection and others as introduced.
  • Maintain satisfactory attendance and overall dependability.
