Pack for Adventure
When you set up camp in Pigeon Forge at Margaritaville, you’ll be close to the unparalleled beauty and nonstop adventure that awaits in the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. With stunning vistas, rushing waterfalls and hiking trails for every skill level, you’ll want to spend plenty of time exploring everything the national park has to offer. Before you hit the trail, here are a couple of things to be sure you’ve packed:
- Sturdy hiking boots: Whether you’re taking the more laidback, paved Laurel Falls trail or summiting the more difficult Mount LeConte, sturdy footwear is always a good idea.
- Bug Repellent: During those warmer months, the park hosts several species of bugs and critters. To avoid bug bites, be sure to pack plenty of bug spray.
- Safety Gear: Although park rangers are always on standby in emergency situations, you’ll want to pack a just-in-case first aid kit for minor injuries.
- Maps: Although technology has greatly advanced, phone service isn’t always available in the park. Make sure you pack a map of where you’ll be or stop by the Sugarlands Visitor Center on your way into the park to pick one up.
Pack for Mealtime
At Camp Margaritaville RV Resort in Pigeon Forge, your mountain getaway isn't just about hiking — it's about savoring every moment of your escape. From a hearty breakfast to start your day to a nourishing lunch and dinner to satisfy every craving, here are a few mealtime essentials worth packing to ensure you’re truly able to drink, dine and unwind:
- Cookware and Tableware: With picnic tables at every campsite, take dining al fresco to new levels. Be sure to bring everything you need to whip up a meal for the whole fam from the comfort of your RV, including plates, napkins, cups, cutlery, spices and seasonings, spatulas and any food you might want to pack ahead. Keep in mind that there are several grocery stores nearby if you’d like to wait and purchase supplies later.
- Snacks, Snacks, Snacks: For those moments when you’re relaxing by the pool or hiking a trail, you’ll want plenty of snacks! And don’t forget to bring the quintessential camping treat — graham crackers, chocolate and marshmallows for making s’mores around the firepit at your campsite!
- An Appetite: You’d better pack a big appetite because, in between snacking and eating at your campsite, there are plenty of on-site dining options right here at Camp Margaritaville. Grab brunch, lunch or dinner at Fins or try poolside BBQ at Sun Baked BBQ Hut.
Pack for Paradise
After a day in the mountains or exploring the wonders of Pigeon Forge, you’ll find no shortage of fun and recreation at Camp Margaritaville. With an on-site pool area and a lazy river, pickleball courts and Fin City Entertainment Center — where a full arcade, bowling and more await — paradise will be at your fingertips. To enjoy it all, consider packing the following:
- A Bathing Suit: The only dress code required for hours of fun in the pool area!
- Sunglass and Sunscreen: Soak up the sun…but stay safe at the same time.
- A Camera: You’ll want to capture the special memories you’re sure to make at Camp Margaritaville.
- Flip-Flops: Take a break from the hiking boots with some flip-flops to wear around your campsite or by the pool — you’re on island time after all!
Pack for a Good Night’s Sleep
With fully equipped campsites and premium amenities, like a bath house and laundry area, you’re sure to stay well-rested and comfortable during your Pigeon Forge camping trip at Camp Margaritaville. However, there are a few things you should be sure to bring for a good night’s sleep:
- Warm Sleeping Gear: Even on the warmest days, the nights can cool down. So, be sure to bring sleeping gear suitable for the weather — a pillow and blankets or a sleeping bag.
- Flashlight or Lantern: Although campsites at Camp Margaritaville are well-lit, it’s always a good idea to bring a flashlight or lantern for evenings around the campfire or late-night bathhouse visits.
While our RV sites provide a cozy home away from home amidst the natural beauty of the Smokies, adventurers looking to level up their stay can also reserve a spot at our luxurious Lodge.
