Job Overview
The Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for all guests, team
members, and visitors across Camp Margaritaville Resort Crystal Beach. This role plays a critical part in daily pool
operations as well as high-volume concerts, events, and resort activities.
This position supports crowd control, enforces resort policies, responds to incidents, and ensures the safety of all
guests while protecting company assets. The Security Officer is expected to remain highly visible, proactive, and
professional while delivering a positive guest experience in a fast-paced, high-energy resort environment.
Responsibilities
Operations & Execution
1. Patrol resort property including pool areas, event spaces, parking lots, and public areas
2. Maintain a visible security presence to deter unsafe or disruptive behavior
3. Respond quickly and effectively to incidents, disturbances, and guest concerns
4. Complete detailed incident reports and communicate issues to leadership
5. Assist with emergency response including medical incidents, evacuations, and severe weather situations
6. Coordinate with local law enforcement and emergency services when necessary
Pool Operations
1. Enforce all pool rules, safety regulations, and resort policies consistently
2. Monitor guest behavior for safety risks including intoxication, roughhousing, and prohibited items
3. Assist with managing pool capacity and controlling access during peak periods
4. Support pool team members in maintaining a safe and family-friendly environment
5. Respond immediately to pool-related incidents and assist lifeguards or management as needed
6. Ensure compliance with glass, alcohol, and safety policies in pool areas
Concert & Event Security
1. Assist with setting up and breakdown of security operations including barricades, checkpoints, and
restricted areas
2. Monitor entry points including bag checks, credential verification, and guest screening
3. Provide crowd control during concerts, festivals, and large-scale resort events
4. Secure stage-front areas, VIP sections, and high-traffic zones
5. De-escalate conflicts and remove disruptive individuals following proper procedures
6. Ensure safe and efficient flow of guests entering and exiting event areas
Safety & Risk Management
1. Identify potential safety hazards and take proactive steps to mitigate risks
2. Enforce all resort policies, including alcohol compliance and behavior standards
3. Protect company property and assets from damage or theft
4. Maintain awareness of surroundings and anticipate potential issues before they escalate
5. Support investigations and documentation related to incidents or accidents
Skills & Experience
- CPR/First Aid Certification preferred (or willingness to obtain)
- TABC Certification preferred
- Security certification preferred
- Previous security, law enforcement, or related experience preferred
- Experience in hospitality, resort, or event security strongly preferred
- Crowd control or large-scale event experience is a plus
- Strong conflict resolution and de-escalation skills
- Ability to work in high-pressure, fast-paced environments
- Experience working outdoors and in high-volume settings
