Get ready for a full day of flavor and fun at Camp Margaritaville Breaux Bridge’s Alligator Cook-Off & Meet and Greet with Bruce Mitchell from Swamp People on June 6th! Cooking teams will compete with their best alligator recipes for the chance to win up to $500 in camp credit while guests enjoy live music, public tastings, camper voting, and a special meet and greet with Bruce “The Alligator Man” Mitchell. Bruce will be arriving to the park around 11AM and will also be joining the judging panel for the cook-off!
Teams have free rein to create any alligator dish they’d like, and alligator meat can be purchased from Crawfish Town USA. Whether you’re competing, tasting, or just enjoying the atmosphere, it’s the perfect way to spend the day at the campground.
Cooking begins at 10AM. Serving and public tastings will take place from 12PM to 2PM, giving campers the opportunity to sample the competing dishes and cast their votes for their favorites. The top five entries selected by camper voting will advance to the final judging round. At 2PM, the DJ will introduce the judges and announce the Top 5 camper-voted dishes. Official judging will begin at 2:15 PM, with Bruce Mitchell and a panel of local judges selecting the winners based on taste, creativity, and presentation. Winners will be announced at 2:45 PM.
1st Place: $500 Camp Credit
2nd Place: $250 Camp Credit
3rd Place: $100 Camp Credit
