What time is check-in and can I check in early?
Check-in begins at 4:00 PM. If you’d like to arrive earlier, early check-in is available subject to availability for an additional fee — contact our Reservations Team prior to arrival.
What time is checkout, and is late checkout possible?
Standard checkout is 11:00 AM. Late checkout to 12:30 PM may be arranged for a fee, depending on availability. Please contact Front Desk on the morning of your departure to confirm.
What does the resort fee cover, and why is it charged?
Our daily resort fee includes a collection of thoughtful amenities designed to elevate your stay. Enjoy resort-wide high-speed WiFi; two bottled waters in your suite plus convenient refill stations; ski and golf storage; full access to our Fins Up Fitness Center, indoor heated pool, and hot tub; live music, poolside movie nights, family games, and social events; complimentary local shuttle service within a 3-mile radius — and a $25 daily food & beverage credit to use at any of our five dining outlets. This fee allows us to provide added conveniences and experiences that help make your time at Margaritaville Resort Lake Tahoe more relaxing, fun, and memorable.
Is parking available?
Valet parking is our only on-site option—no self-parking lot is available. The valet fee is $40-$60 per night and includes unlimited in/out privileges. With our prime location just a short walk from Lake Tahoe and only a two-minute walk to the Heavenly Gondola, your car’s on vacation too! Skip the stress of circling for parking or dealing with winter conditions and head straight into resort mode.
Please note: the vehicle height limit is 6 ft 8 in, and during peak arrival/departure times there may be a brief wait. Oversized vehicles are accommodated at $75 per night. For full details, please see our Valet Parking Policy.
How close is the resort to Lake Tahoe and Heavenly Mountain Ski Gondola?
We are just steps (about a 2-minute walk) from the Heavenly Gondola, and approximately 150 yards away. The lake shoreline is a short flat walk (10 minutes) from the hotel — but note that the return walk is uphill.
What is the hotel's cancellation policy?
Cancellation policies vary by season and room type — please refer to your booking confirmation or contact Reservations for your specific terms.
Are pets welcome? What should I know?
Dogs are welcome (maximum 2 dogs per room, each under 30 lbs). For full details (fees, on-property leash policy, relief areas, service rules) please see our Pet Policy page.
Is smoking allowed at the hotel?
We are a non-smoking resort. Smoking in a guestroom will result in a $250 fee.
How many people are allowed per room?
Under California Fire & Occupancy Code, rooms with two queen beds allow up to 4 adults; king-bed rooms are limited to 2 adults.
Is there a minimum age for checkin?
Yes, the minimum check-in age at the resort is 18 years.

What is the best way to get from Reno/Tahoe airport without a car?
We recommend the South Tahoe Airporter, which provides year-round non-stop service between the Resort and Reno/Tahoe International Airport.
Is public transportation accessible from the hotel?
Yes — the free Lake Link on-demand shuttle serves South Shore beaches, trails, nightlife and entertainment spots. Download the ride-app or ask our Front Desk for service details.

What complimentary in-room amenities are included?
Every suite at Margaritaville Resort Lake Tahoe is designed for comfort, convenience, and a touch of island luxury. As an all-suite resort, your room includes reusable water bottles, a mini-fridge, coffee maker, handheld steamer, two bathrobes, hairdryer, makeup mirror, Smart TV, high-speed internet, and a personal in-room safe—plus plenty of thoughtful extras to make your stay feel like paradise.
Are the pool & hot tub adult-friendly?
Our indoor heated pool and hot tub are open year-round from 5:00 AM to 10:00 PM for all ages, and until 12:00 AM exclusively for adults 18 and older. Families, couples, and friends all enjoy the space during the day, while the extended evening hours offer a quieter, adults-only atmosphere to unwind and relax.
Can I receive mail and packages at the hotel?
Yes — please address items to your name and arrival date. We’ll accept and hold them for you; front-desk fees may apply. Valid ID required for release.

Are there on-site restaurants and bars?

Are children welcome at the hotel? What facilities and services are available for children?
Yes — we’re family-friendly. Kids will love the indoor pool/hot tub (open to all ages), lawn games, seasonal scavenger hunts and movie-night events. Our resort design blends family fun with adult chill zones.

How many pets are welcome? What is the weight limit?
Two dogs per room maximum, each under 30 lbs.
Do my pets need to be leashed?
Yes — all dogs must be fully trained, leashed, and under your control while on property (including lobby and outdoor spaces).
Can I leave my pet in my room or leashed at the resort?
Pets must not be left in guestrooms unattended.
Can I bring my pet to the pool area?
Pets are not allowed in any water feature or within the pool area or in the pool under any circumstances.
Where should I take my pet for relief?
Designated pet relief areas are provided with complimentary bags; you’ll receive a map at check-in.
My pet is a little noisy, will that be an issue?
For the comfort of all guests, disturbances (such as persistent barking) need to be curtailed immediately. Our team is happy to help with quiet-time suggestions.
Does the resort provide housekeeping service if I have a pet in my room?
Housekeeping will not service your room if your pet is inside. Please contact Front Desk to schedule cleaning when you're available to escort your pet or have them crated.
What happens if my pet damages property?
We reserve the right to charge your account for any damage caused by your pet — including lost income, replacement cost, and associated cleaning.

How far is the resort from the Heavenly Gondola?

Can I buy lift tickets nearby?
Is there shuttle service to other ski resorts?
Yes, local shuttles and transportation options are available to Kirkwood and Sierra-at-Tahoe.
Do you offer ski storage?
Yes, we have teamed up with Ski Butlers to make your ski days effortless. Enjoy complimentary Ski Valet & Storage—professionally managed by Ski Butlers—to keep your gear safe, dry, and ready for the next run.
Plus, every room here is a spacious suite, perfect for spreading out your layers, drying your gloves, and warming your boots after a day on the mountain.
Where can I park?
Valet parking is the only option on-site. Call it your car’s vacation, too! Once you pull into valet, you’re in resort mode: no circling, no scraping, just sleeping in, grabbing a latte in the lobby, and walking over to the Heavenly Gondola in 2 minutes.
