Originally from Fort Wayne, Indiana, Kirk Schenkel brings over 47 years of experience in the hospitality industry to his role as Director of Catering and Events. His career began with the prestigious Marriott Management Training Program, laying the foundation for decades of leadership and innovation in food and beverage operations.
Kirk spent 25 years with Interstate Hotels, where he played an integral role on opening task forces for numerous new properties across the country. His career includes leadership roles at some of the nation's most renowned resorts, including the Boca Raton Hotel and Club, Sawgrass Marriott Golf Resort & Spa, and Lake Arrowhead Resort. At each stop, Kirk established a reputation for operational excellence, team leadership, and elevated guest experiences.
Since joining Margaritaville in 2023, Kirk has brought his extensive expertise in banquet operations, catering execution, and food and beverage management to the team. His passion for service and deep industry knowledge continue to enhance every event hosted at the resort.
Tamara Tessmer, originally from West Milford, New Jersey, brings over 30 years of experience in the hospitality industry and has spent the last two decades immersed in the world of weddings and events. Her passion for creating unforgettable celebrations was sparked in 2004, and from the moment she helped plan her first wedding, she knew she had found her true calling.
For more than 15 years, Tamara worked with one of the top event planning companies in Boca Raton, where she coordinated everything from intimate gatherings to elaborate, large-scale productions. In 2019, she made the move to Orlando and joined the Margaritaville Resort Orlando team in 2023, where she continues to do what she loves most - helping couples bring their wedding visions to life.
Known for her thoughtful attention to detail and calm, creative approach, Tamara believes every couple deserves a wedding day that is as unique and meaningful as their love story. She's especially inspired by that quiet, powerful moment just before the ceremony begins - when everything comes together, and all that's left is the joy, the love, and the anticipation.
Originally from Buffalo, NY, Alana Biggie discovered her passion for event planning while organizing her sister's bridal and baby showers.
